Correll Buckhalter is inactive for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Various reports suggest he is sick. Rookie Tony Hunt will likely step up into his running back role, and J.R. Reed will likely return kicks.

Correll Buckhalter was limping on Monday due to a sprained left ankle, but he tells the Philadelphia Inquirer that the ailment is not serious.

The Eagles re-signed Correll Buckhalter to a two-year contract on Wednesday, according to the Sports Network. "Buck worked extremely hard to get on the field in 2006 and did a solid job for us," general manager Tom Heckert said. "He's a tough kid both mentally and physically and is a proven performer at running back when he's been healthy. He's a real good compliment to Brian Westbrook in our offensive scheme." Buckhalter ran for 345 yards and two touchdowns on 83 carries last year after missing three of the prior four seasons because of knee injuries.
