Former Steelers wide receiver Cedrick Wilson was ordered today to undergo an eight-week anger management program by a district judge who is considering charges stemming from an altercation with a former girlfriend, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Wilson was recently charged with striking Lindsey Paulat, 26, in a domestic dispute at a restaurant. At the end of the eight weeks, Hampton District Judge Regis Welsh Jr. could dismiss or reduce charges of harassment, simple assault and disorderly conduct or hold Wilson, 29, for trial.

The estranged girlfriend of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Cedrick Wilson denies that he punched her at a suburban restaurant last week, according to USA Today. Lindsey Paulat said Wilson got upset but only shoved her when he saw her drinking last week at Patron Mexican Grill in Pine Township. "He never punched. He pushed me in the side of the head," Paulat told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Friday. "It was misconstrued apparently by the people around us." In a criminal complaint, Northern Regional police said Wilson pushed Paulat on the shoulder and, when she turned around, punched her in the face. Wilson, 29, who has been charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, remains free on $10,000 bail. Wilson apologized and said he would attend anger management classes, but the Pittsburgh Steelers released him last week, a few hours after his arraignment.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released wide receiver Cedrick Wilson, according to the Sports Network. Wilson signed with the Steelers as a free agent before the 2005 season after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with San Francisco. In three campaigns with Pittsburgh, he totaled 81 receptions for 1,162 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson was in the Allegheny County Jail last night awaiting arraignment on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after an incident at a restaurant with his girlfriend. It was his second scrape with the law in the past three months, and these issues appear to be the reason he was ultimately released.

Pittsburgh wide receiver Cedrick Wilson has been charged with assaulting his estranged girlfriend at a suburban restaurant Wednesday night, according to the Associated Press. A police criminal complaint said Wilson, 29, entered Patron Mexican Grill in Pine Township shortly before 8pm and saw Lindsey Paulat sitting at the bar. Authorities allege that he pushed her on the shoulder and then punched her in the face. In January, Wilson and Paulat were involved in a fight at Wilson's home that ended with her holding police at bay for several hours. Authorities say Wilson was in the Allegheny County Jail on Wednesday night awaiting arraignment on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
