The Miami Dolphins recently signed kicker Dave Rayner, but he isn’t expected to replace incumbent Jay Feely, according to the Miami Herald. Rayner has been brought onboard for his ability to boot the ball deep into the end zone on kickoffs. Feely converted 21-of-23 field goal opportunities last year, good for a 91.3% clip.

Jay Feely has a stretch of 21 consecutive field goals made, dating back to last season. He's 11-for-11 with Miami, including four makes in the loss to Houston last week. Normally you don't want to get invested with kickers tied to mediocre offenses, but Feely has been thriving anyway through the opening five weeks.

Jay Feely agreed to a three-year, $6 million deal with Miami on Thursday, according to the Miami Herald. The deal reportedly includes $2.5 million in guaranteed money. Feely made 58-of-69 field goals in two seasons with the Giants.

Jay Feely is ready to test the free agent waters this offseason, according to the New York Post. He hasn't ruled out returning to the Giants, but Feely considers the offers the team has previously made him regarding an extension well below market value. "This is the first time I've been able to go into free agency coming off the two best years of my career," Feely said. "I've got some power, or whatever you want to call it."
