The San Jose Mercury News reports that Johnnie Morton missed practice Thursday because of soreness in an Achilles tendon. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's game.

Johnnie Morton, who left Sunday's game because of a concussion, said he was feeling better before the game was over and was held out only as a precaution, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Morton said he expects to be ready to play the Eagles in Week 2.

Johnnie Morton signed with the 49ers on Tuesday, primarily because he wanted to be reunited with wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The two worked together in Detroit, where Sullivan was an assistant. Morton will bring some veteran leadership to a very young receiving corps.
