Eli Manning had arguably his best game of the year in Saturday's loss to New England. He completed 22-of-32 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns (against one interception) and he was sacked just once. The 118.6 QB rating Manning posted was a season best.

Eli Manning would like to forget about Week 12 as soon as possible. He completed just 21-of-49 passes for 273 yards and was picked off four times, with three of the picks being returned for touchdowns. Manning had just one TD pass and hasn't thrown multiple TDs since Week 7.

Eli Manning had trouble throwing the ball in rainy London Sunday, as he completed just 8-of-22 passes for 59 yards. Manning salvaged his fantasy day a bit by rushing for 26 yards and a score, but all in all it was a disappointing day for his owners - especially since the Giants were facing the woeful Dolphins.

Eli Manning reported no problems with his sprained right shoulder on Monday. "Physically, I feel fine. I'm ready to go," Manning tells the Newark Star-Ledger. "I don't think I made anything worse by playing yesterday. (I) didn't take any big hits to affect it, so I feel fine."

Eli Manning will start against the Packers on Sunday, according to ESPN. He had been labeled a game-time decision due to a shoulder injury.

Eli Manning was able to return to practice on Friday, giving hope to him playing on Sunday. Several of his teammates said they'd be surprised if he doesn't start the game, according to the New York Daily News. Of course, the final call will be made by coach Tom Coughlin and probably won't be made until just prior to the game.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning is listed as questionable on this week’s injury report.

Eli Manning threw 14 passes in front of the New York media on Friday morning. The attempts ranged from 10-to-30 yards, the New York Daily News reports. Manning, who has a sprained right shoulder, didn't look outstanding but was okay, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. The Giants then closed off the practice during the team portion, although it is known that Jared Lorenzen was taking snaps during the walk-through.

The stories continue to swirl about the state of Eli Manning's sprained right shoulder. A source close to the Giants quarterback previously stuck to the "day-to-day" outlook but changed his story on Wednesday. "I'm hearing conflicting things. I don't know what to believe anymore," the source tells the New York Daily News. A different source reveals that team physician Dr. Russell Warren initially told Manning that he has a second-degree sprain, which means some ligaments are torn and that he'd likely miss three-to-four weeks. The Giants deny that was ever the case. Regardless of the severity, Manning can play as soon as he can tolerate the pain.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin liked what he saw from Eli Manning on Wednesday, although the quarterback did not practice. "He’s going to do a little light soft-toss on the side. He will not take any snaps. But I’m encouraged by his progress," Coughlin tells the team's official web site. "He’s less sore than he was the day before. The swelling is way down. So I’m encouraged by that.” Manning is day-to-day due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. Jared Lorenzen is working with the first team in his place.

Dr. James Andrews looked at Eli Manning's test results and confirmed that the Giants quarterback can play whenever he can handle the pain. Manning will not risk further damage to his sprained right shoulder by coming back quickly, the New York Daily News reports. Jared Lorenzen will take first-team snaps on Wednesday and Thursday, and Manning may test his shoulder on Friday.

Opinions continue to differ about the state of Eli Manning's right shoulder, and it's time to call on the super-specialist. Dr. James Andrews will review Manning's MRI and provide a second opinion, the New York Daily News reports. ESPN maintains that Manning is expected to miss a month due to a separation, while the team is calling it a sprained AC joint and saying he is day-to-day. It may just be two ways of saying the same thing. The ligaments in Manning's AC joint were stretched, which is technically both a sprain and a mild separation.
September 10, 2007
The Giants have denied the ESPN report that Eli Manning will miss at least one month due to a slightly separated right shoulder. The official word is that Manning has a contusion to his AC joint and is day-to-day, the team’s official web site reports. "They really put it in my hands," Manning tells the New York Daily News. "It's a matter of when you feel good. It all depends on how I feel."
September 10, 2007
Eli Manning will be joining Brandon Jacobs on the sidelines. ESPN is reporting that Manning will miss at least one month after suffering a right shoulder separation on Sunday night. Jared Lorenzen or Anthony Wright will start in Manning’s place, and this day of news obviously also decreases the value of Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey.

We should know more about Eli Manning and his injured shoulder after he undergoes an MRI on Monday. Manning sustained the injury when he was slammed to the ground with about seven minutes left during Sunday's game. He stayed in for a bit but was unable to finish the game. "It got a little tight and as time went on it got a little more sore," Manning told the New York Daily News. "I didn't want to go in and make anything worse." Manning actually had a pretty big game, finishing with 312 yards four TDs and a lone interception, before the injury stopped him. We'll have to wait on the MRI before finding out his status for Week 2.
September 9, 2007
Eli Manning was forced out of Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury. Manning, who was replaced by Jared Lorenzen, watched the end of the game on the sideline. He was having a huge game before going down, as he completed 28-of-41 pass attempts for 312 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Hopefully, the injury won't affect his status for Week 2.

With Tiki Barber no longer in football, Eli Manning is looking to become the leader of the Giants offense. "It's a matter of kind of holding the team together and controlling the offense, that's my job, I think," Manning tells the New York Post. "You lose Tiki, a guy who kind of did that, I look forward to that opportunity to take it over and be in charge of having our offense mentally and physically ready to go out there and be prepared for every game."

The Giants exercised a "buy-back" of Eli Manning's contract earlier this month, according to Newsday. By doing so, they will keep him under contract through the 2012 season, rather than 2007. The move cost the Giants about $8 million in bonuses.
