The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Vikings' owner Zygi Wilf says that he has no interest at all in signing Brett Favre should he become available this offseason.

Brett Favre commented on his decision to hang up his cleats, for good this time, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Favre said, "I have family and friends who are like, 'All right, Brett. Is this the real deal? To me, it is. It is. Believe me. It has been a wonderful career, I could not ask for anything more. It was worth a shot for me to go to New York. I wish I could have played better down the stretch. I did not. Emotionally, I am OK with it." "It's time to leave."

The New York Daily News reports that Brett Favre has officially submitted his retirement papers to the NFL. He will in turn receive his one time severance pay from the league.

Brett Favre has decided to retire from professional football, according to ESPN.com. "It sucks getting old. At 40 years old, your mind tells you that you can do all the things you could in your younger years but the body doesn't cooperate," Favre said.
