David Carr signed a one-year contract worth $1 million, and includes playing time incentives, according to the Star-Ledger. Carr, who will serve as the veteran backup to Eli Manning, is aware that he's not competing for the starting job, but is happy about the chance to get his career back on track in a positive, post-Super Bowl championship environment. He is also excited to work with Giants quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer, who was the Texans' offensive coordinator during Carr's first four seasons in Houston.

David Carr has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the New York Giants, according to the Star-Ledger. Terms of the deal are undisclosed, but the contract is being written up now and details will be released shortly. Carr, who is better known for his poor decision making skills than anything else, will likely backup Eli Manning, though it probably isn’t a slam dunk.

The New York Giants will host free agent quarterback David Carr this week, according to the Star-Ledger. The Giants are shopping for a veteran backup for Eli Manning, and New York quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer used to tutor Carr in Houston, so there's a connection. Unless Carr can rectify his horrible decision making tendencies, he will never amount to anything in the NFL.

The Carolina Panthers have released QB David Carr, according to thebuzz. Carr carried a salary cap number of $4.35 million for 2008, and the transaction saved Carolina nearly $2.8 million on this year’s cap. Carr, who was sacked 249 times during five seasons in Houston, started four games in 2007 for the Panthers, suffering through toe, back and head injuries. Life in the NFL has been brutal existence for the six-year veteran, who was rumored to have sustained two concussions last year.

Panthers quarterback David Carr is one of the many Carolina players who could be released in the coming weeks, according to the Charlotte Observer. An outright release of the team's backup signal caller could save the Panthers nearly $2.8 million under the salary cap, according to salary documents. Cutting Carr isn't as simple as just a bottom line transaction. His struggles were obvious while filling in for injured Jake Delhomme last season. However, the organization admires his natural talent and overall classiness. Carr's cap number is forecast to be $4.35 million but the team wouldn't save that much cap space with the move.
