Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride is the latest person to weigh in on the Jeremy Shockey situation. The two talked recently. "It’s so nebulous right now, you just have no idea what’s going to happen," Gilbride tells the New York Daily News. "Right now he’s on our team. We’re planning on him being there. He’ll be one of the guys that we’ll look to feature and one of the guys that we’ll look to depend on." Gilbride refused to pass along what Shockey said about the situation.

Newsday NFL writer Bob Glauber reported on ESPN this morning that the only way the New York Giants would trade tight end Jeremy Shockey is if they received an offer that “knocked their socks off”.

League sources indicate the New Orleans Saints' pursuit of New York tight end Jeremy Shockey did not end when a draft-day deal between the clubs could not be reached, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Head coach Sean Payton believes Shockey is a perfect fit for the Saints' offense, and he still desperately wants the player to be wearing a black-and-gold uniform this season.

Jeremy Shockey did not attend the Giants' visit to the White House on Wednesday, according to the Newark Star Ledger. Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora also were not in attendance.

We have completed nearly five rounds of this year's NFL Draft, and TE Jeremy Shockey remains with the New York Giants, though the Saints report it is not due to their lack of effort, according to ESPN.com.
