Chris Baker will miss Sunday's game due to a back injury. Baker's agent, Cliff Brady, wasn't sure how long Baker would miss any additional games. "I'm not a doctor," Brady said in the AP. "So, I'd rather not speculate."

Chris Baker would relish the opportunity to catch more passes, but he's content to make plays on the rare occasions when he's a part of the passing game. "Honestly, I would love the ball more," Baker told Newsday after catching his second touchdown of the season in Week 3. "But it's one of those things where I just have to roll with it and whenever something comes my way, make the play." Baker has scored on two of his four catches this year, but isn't active enough in the offense to be considered a fantasy factor.

Chris Baker may finally be turning into the pass-catching tight end the Jets have wanted him to become. During Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage, Baker grabbed six catches for 77 yards as he formed a very nice connection with starting quarterback Chad Pennington. "He had a really nice season last year," coach Eric Mangini told the New York Post. "His run blocking is very good and he's got a good feel for running routes." Added Pennington, "He's very versatile… We knew he had good hands, but every year he's been able to hone those skills, really concentrate on the detail and try to put all those things together."
