Jabar Gaffney is an ideal role player for New England and has the complete confidence of the coaching staff, according to Pro Football Weekly. Gaffney, who recently signed a one-year deal worth $2 million, appears to be the frontrunner for the first reserve spot in the PatriotsÂ’ receiver rotation. Gaffney is a sure handed receiver with the ability to move the chains, and he also has the respect of quarterback Tom Brady. It appears he will receive more targets in 2008 with the release of Donte Stallworth.

Jabar Gaffney has been limited in practice the past two days after injuring his shoulder earlier this week, according to the Boston Herald. "I just kind of came down on it and banged it up a little bit, but I got treatment pretty much all day [Wednesday]," said Gaffney. "I woke up [yesterday] morning and got some too. Hopefully, I'll be ready to go." Check back for updates to make sure he doesn't end up a late scratch for the Super Bowl.
