Kendall Newson will undergo surgery to repair his knee, which was injured in Saturday's preseason contest, according to the Miami Herald. It's not clear how long he will need to recover, but it appears he may be headed to injured reserve, which would end his season.

Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt announced at halftime yesterday that Kendall Newson "popped his Achilles tendon," according to the Miami Herald. The severity of the injury will not be known until after an MRI today, though it very well could be a season-ending injury.
