Jesse Chatman is active for the Dolphins' Week 16 matchup with the Patriots. Chatman is battling an ankle injury that has kept him out for two games and limited him in practice throughout the week. Given his iffy health, he will probably share carries with Samkon Gado, meaning he's not a top-notch fantasy option against a solid Patriots defense.

Jesse Chatman got in some limited work with the first unit in practice on Friday. "It is the best that the ankle has felt since I injured it," Chatman said, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Chatman hopes to start against the Patriots, but he may end up a game-time call. It'll be a tough matchup, though, if he is active.
December 21, 2007
Jesse Chatman has been doing some work with the Miami starters in practice this week, though he's still listed as "limited" on the official practice report. He's dealing with an ankle injury. Hopefully your Week 16 plans aren't reliant on too many Miami players, as they make a trip to New England Sunday.

December 8, 2007
Jesse Chatman first said Friday that he would be a "game-time decision," but then later he said he would play. He is officially listed as questionable on the injury report. If Chatman is unable to go, Samkon Gado would get the start, according to the Miami Herald.
December 6, 2007
Jesse Chatman (ankle) missed his second straight day of work Thursday, making him a very risky call for Week 14. Sam Gado and Lorenzo Booker are other options for the Dolphins if Chatman can't go at Buffalo.
December 4, 2007
Cam Cameron didn't shed any light on the condition of running back Jesse Chatman's injured ankle on Monday, but the Palm Beach Post reports that Chatman is expected to play in Week 14 against the Bills. Chatman wouldn't be a bad play against a mediocre Bills defense under normal circumstances, but he has been unable to finish the last three games because of ankle and neck injuries, which makes him a risky fantasy option in Week 14. We'll find out more about his status when the Dolphins return to practice on Wednesday.
December 3, 2007
Jesse Chatman was unable to complete yesterday's game after aggravating his troublesome ankle injury. Several hours after the contest, he said the joint remained sore but that he planned to play through the pain in practice this week, according to the Miami Herald. It's nice that he's trying to push through the injury, but he's going to be a risky play until he's closer to full strength.
December 2, 2007
Jesse Chatman left Sunday's game in the third quarter with an ankle injury. His return is questionable. Chatman had been battling ankle issues prior to today's contest, so he likely re-aggravated the same injury. Samkon Gado replaced Chatman in the game.

Dolphins running back Jesse Chatman is active and expected to start despite suffering from a pair of ankle injuries.
November 29, 2007
Jesse Chatman was limited in Wednesday’s practice, but he is expected to be in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Jets. “We’ve got to keep pushing,” Chatman told the Miami Herald. “It’s that time of year when everybody is banged up, so it’s time to find out who wants it the most. That’s how the great ones do it.” While we’ll stop short of including Chatman in the “great ones” category just yet, he was able to gut through a painful ankle injury that was aggravated by the awful turf in Pittsburgh last Monday night. Chatman also suffered a neck injury in that game that has been deemed a non-issue, so assuming the ankle holds up all week we expect to see Chatman in the lineup against a bad Jets defense on Sunday.
November 28, 2007
On the same day the Dolphins officially placed Ricky Williams on injured reserve and re-signed running back Samkon Gado, coach Cam Cameron told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Jesse Chatman's injured neck is "fine," and he should be ready to start on Sunday against the Jets.
November 27, 2007
Jesse Chatman was forced out of Monday night's loss to the Steelers after sustaining an injury after a helmet-to-helmet hit. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Chatman suffered a neck injury, though there was no mention of the severity of the injury. Chatman was already hobbled by a sore ankle that limited his practice time last week, so add the neck to his list of maladies. Ricky Williams (pectoral) was also injured on Monday, which left Patrick Cobbs to finish out the game as the team's primary runner. We'll keep you updated on the status of the Dolphins running game later in the week.
November 26, 2007
Running back Jesse Chatman did not find his name on the inactive list for tonight’s game in Pittsburgh, which means he will be in uniform and available.
November 26, 2007
Jesse Chatman's injured ankle is feeling better on Monday, and he's told coaches he wants to play on Monday night. According to the Miami Herald, as of Sunday night the Dolphins were leaning towards starting Ricky Williams against the Steelers, and Cam Cameron must now decide how to use the two backs together if Chatman is, indeed, healthy enough to play.
November 24, 2007
Jesse Chatman was limited in Saturday's practice and remains questionable for Monday's game with Pittsburgh, the Dolphins official site reports. Chatman is dealing with an ankle injury. Cam Cameron characterized Chatman's practice as encouraging.
November 24, 2007
The Dolphins consider Jesse Chatman to be questionable for Monday's game due to an injured right ankle. "We'll make that decision in a couple of days. We don't need to make it yet." coach Cam Cameron told the Miami Herald, "It can come a long way by [Saturday]. We have a significant practice [Saturday] and a walk-through on Sunday, so we've still got some time." Since the paper also said that Chatman "ambles like Fred Sanford through the locker room," it doesn't sound likely that Chatman will be ready to play on Monday night, but we'll have to wait to see what he does on Saturday. If Chatman can't go, we could see the season debut of Ricky Williams, who apparently has taken the first-team snaps in practice this week. Patrick Cobbs would figure into the mix, too.
October 28, 2007

September 15, 2007
Jesse Chatman is healthy enough to play on Sunday, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He missed practice this week with a sprained left knee, but it appears he will be able to spell Ronnie Brown Sunday. It's not clear at this point how much work Chatman can expect to take on if he's not 100 percent.
September 14, 2007
Jesse Chatman missed practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday, calling his availability for Week 2 into question. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, his continued absence decreases the likelihood that he'll play on Sunday, despite the fact he earlier said that his sprained left knee wasn't serious.

August 6, 2007
Jesse Chatman is playing very well in Dolphins training camp and is in the mix to serve as Ronnie Brown's backup. "At one point in time in his career, there's no doubt in my mind that he could [carry a full-time load]," head coach Cam Cameron told the Miami Herald. "I think we just need to let this play out and see how he does." Chatman is battling rookie Lorenzo Booker for looks behind Brown.
