In the first start of his career, Larry Johnson excelled for the Chiefs. With Derrick Blaylock inactive, Johnson carried the ball 30 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Larry Johnson will start in place of the injured Derrick Blaylock on Sunday, according to the KC Star. He's coming off of two straight 100-yard games as a reserve.

Although Larry Johnson rushed for 118 yards in Week 13, Derrick Blaylock will once again be the starting tailback for the Chiefs this week, according to the Kansas City Star. Johnson got extra work this past week because Blaylock missed part of the game with a strained neck.

Larry Johnson rushed for a career-high 118 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries against the Raiders on Sunday. Johnson, who also had a touchdown reception, got more playing time than expected because Derrick Blaylock was nicked up in the first half.

Larry Johnson saw playing time when Priest Holmes went down with a knee injury last weekend, but that was only because Derrick Blaylock was inactive due to a sore quad, according to the Kansas City Star. If Holmes can't play this weekend and Blaylock is healthy, Blaylock will get the start.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Dolphins and Bucs are pushing hardest to acquire Larry Johnson from the Chiefs. The Eagles and Cowboys have also expressed interest in the running back, though.

The Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs are not aggresively seeking to trade Larry Johnson but have had "substantive" discussions about the running back with the Buccaneers, Dolphins, Eagles and Cowboys. However, the Dallas Morning News has reported that the Cowboys are not interested in Johnson.

The Miami Herald reports that the Chiefs called the Dolphins last week to see if they would be interested in acquiring Larry Johnson in a trade. The Dolphins are probably interested, but, having already given up high draft picks for Lamar Gordon and A.J. Feeley, they may not be in a position to make another deal involving draft picks.

Larry Johnson is once again behind Derrick Blaylock on the Chiefs' depth chart, as head coach Dick Vermeil said that Blaylock will start if Priest Holmes is unable to play this week. Vermeil did imply that Johnson would see action, as well, in that scenario.

Larry Johnson has been impressive in Kansas City's camp so far, according to the KC Star. He's still not a lock for the primary backup job behind Priest Holmes, however, and he needs a strong showing in the exhibition season to separate himself from Derrick Blaylock.
