Former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher will not coach next season, according to NFL.com.

December 24, 2008
Steelers chairman Dan Rooney said that Pittsburgh will not block Bill Cowher from returning to coach in the NFL if he wishes to, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Cowher had one year remaining on his contract with the Steelers when he decided to hang it up to spend more time with his family. Rooney did say, however, that he didn't expect Cowher to coach in 2009 because he currently is happy where he's at.
