Aaron Elling has been ruled out of Friday's preseason finale with his strained right hip, which means that Paul Edinger is almost certain to be the Vikings' kicker in Week 1, according to the Star-Tribune. Edinger and Elling had been in a neck-and-neck battle for the job before Elling was injured in pregame warmups on Friday.
