Antonio Gates, who is recovering from toe surgery (in February), will begin running later this month, according to CBSsports. His recovery was expected to take 4-6 months, so it is unlikely he will be ready for training camp in late July.

All world tight end Antonio Gates will not participate in the San Diego Chargers weekend minicamp, according to Chargers.com. Gates will attend the festivities, but continues to recover from the toe surgery he had in February.

Antonio Gates, who underwent foot surgery on his big toe, is expected to be ready to participate in training camp, according to the SD Union-Tribune. General Manager A.J. Smith said. "He is supposed to be ready (for camp). There is no question he is going to be fine. It's the timetable." Coach Turner also expects him to be ready.

Antonio Gates will undergo foot surgery to repair damage suffered late in the regular season, according to ESPN.com. The Pro Bowl tight end will reportedly need four-to-six months of recovery time which puts his offseason conditioning programs and mini-camp participation in jeopardy. "It may be the beginning of training camp and it may be the middle of the season," Antonio Gates said. Gates played through the injury during the Chargers playoff run and it's hard to believe he wouldn't be ready for the beginning of the 2008 regular season.

Antonio Gates missed Friday's practice due to his sore toe and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game at New England. Gates was able to play through the doubtful tag and dress at Indianapolis last week, but nonetheless there's a viable chance he won't be able to go here.
