Kellen Winslow Jr (knee) was limited in the Thursday practice, though he expects to play against the 49ers Sunday. He's been playing through a list of injuries for most of the second half.

Kellen Winslow's partially dislocated shoulder is "something he's going to have to deal with all year," Browns coach Romeo Crennel told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "We're going to try to do everything we can to keep him out there, but if he's not we'll go on with the next guy," Crennel told the Plain Dealer. "They're not going to cancel the season." Winslow was limited during Wednesday's practice and will likely be limited in practice throughout the rest of the season. However, he shows up on Sundays and until that stops happening you can expect the Browns to keep running him out there.

Kellen Winslow Jr was able to take part in practice Friday, though he was limited. He's listed as questionable for Week 4, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Winslow probably will be a game-time decision due to his partially dislocated shoulder.

Kellen Winslow Jr was benched for the start of Saturday's preseason game due to a coaches' decision. Browns GM Phil Savage wouldn't say why Winslow was benched, though he confirmed it was not for being in the wrong personnel groupings on the goal line last week against the Lions, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. When he did enter the game in the second quarter, he was called for a false start on the first play. Winslow has enough on his plate, as he works his way back from major knee surgery, so the last thing he needs is getting under the skin of his coaches.

Kellen Winslow Jr was activated off the PUP list on Friday. He was able to take part in a light practice in shorts and without pads, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The Browns plan to limit his work in camp to give him the best shot of being ready for the start of the season. Winslow is recovering from major knee surgery and will need to be watched closely throughout the preseason.

Tight end Kellen Winslow Jr will open training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The designation protects the Browns in case Winslow is still hampered by the same injury at the start of the regular season, though the team believes Winslow will be activated once he passes a physical exam some time in the next week. Winslow underwent microfracture surgery in the offseason to alleviate pain in his surgicallyl repaired right knee, and the plan is to limit him throughout training camp.

Kellen Winslow Jr has yet to begin running yet, as he continues to recover from microfracture surgery, according to the Canton Repository. "We expect he will be back and ready to go," coach Romeo Crennel said. "It might not be until training camp until he's at full speed. But he's around, and he's doing pretty good."

It turns out that the knee surgery Kellen Winslow Jr underwent Jan. 30 was a microfracture procedure, according to the Akron Beacon-Journal. The official recovery time is about four months, but realistically many athletes take a year or more to get back to full strength.

Kellen Winslow Jr underwent arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove scar tissue and repair cartilage damage in his right knee, according to the AP. Winslow, who injured the knee in a May 2005 motorcycle accident, was released from the Cleveland Clinic and is expected to make a full recovery.
