Chargers GM A.J. Smith denied rumors that he would deal rookie Philip Rivers away before March 10, when the quarterback will receive a $6.6 million roster bonus, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Regardless of what he said, the club will have to decide whether Rivers or incumbent Drew Brees (who will be a free agent) will be their top quarterback next season.
