Steven Jackson stated that he is 100 percent healthy again heading into training camp, according to the Portland Tribune. He will be in the final year of his five-year contract, and said, "A contract year is big for anyone, but especially for the last year of a rookie deal. Im looking to have a great year and lengthen my career with St. Louis. Hopefully, Ill retire as a Ram."

Steven Jackson may end up getting a record deal for the running back position, reports Pro Football Weekly. The 24-year-old back is on his third agent in five years, and would like a new contract sooner rather than later.

Steven Jackson was absent from Thursday's voluntary OTA due to a twisted ankle he suffered two weeks ago, this according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Running back Steven Jackson sat out last Thursday's practice after turning an ankle on Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. "It did swell up a little bit, but it's not serious," head coach Scott Linehan said.

Steven Jackson would prefer to stay in St. Louis, although he expects the Rams to pay adequately for his services. "This is definitely where I want to be," Jackson tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Jackson is in the final year of his rookie contract, and he adds, "Well, we all know what happens in a contract year: you ball out. So, I expect to."
