Steven Jackson will test his ailing thigh with a vigorous workout Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Belleville News Democrat reports that Steven Jackson (thigh) has been ruled out for Week 12. Coach Jim Haslett said the Rams medical staff recommend that Jackson, who has already missesd three of the Rams' last four games, sit out this week. They feel he should be out this week, and rest him, and see what happens next week," Haslett said.

Steven Jackson won't make the trip to San Francisco to battle the 49ers, and instead will visit a specialist to determine why his strained right thigh is not responding well to treatment, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Unless Steven Jackson fully practices today without any issues, he will likely miss Week 11 at San Francisco, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He did some work Wednesday, but was unable to practice Thursday due to his strained right thigh. Coach Jim Haslett said, "He's not putting it on the ground and exploding off it. That's the big thing, and until he does it, he's not going to be really effective."

Updating an earlier report, Steven Jackson has continued stiffness and swelling in his quadriceps muscle and as a result he missed another practice on Thursday, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.
