Steven Jackson returned to action on Sunday with a decent performance, especially if your league rewards running backs who pass for touchdowns. Jackson rushed 22 times for 76 yards and a touchdown, caught five passes for 24 yards and tossed a two-yard touchdown pass to Randy McMichael. Jackson had been out with groin and back injuries.

Steven Jackson is active and will start on Sunday against the Saints. He has been dealing with groin and back issues.

Rams head coach Scott Linehan told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he expects running back Steven Jackson to play Sunday against the Saints. Jackson left the team’s last game early with a back injury. He also missed a large chuck of the season with a groin ailment. The Saints defense won’t remind anyone of the 1985 Bears, but Jackson will be returning against a unit which hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week 1.

Steven Jackson returned from his groin injury Sunday but didn't play after he began experiencing back spasms in the first quarter. "It was overcompensation for my groin," Jackson said, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "It’s not an injury that’ll keep you out for weeks. It’s a setback." Doctors told Jackson that back spasms might occur as a result of returning from his groin strain, so it's not surprising this happened. The Rams have a bye this week, so he should be ready for Week 10.

Rams running back Steven Jackson is in the locker room with a back injury. Jackson played in his first game since Week 3, after sitting out with a partially torn groin. At this point his return is questionable.
October 25, 2007
Steven Jackson had his second straight full practice Thursday and should be able to start Sunday against Cleveland. He's returning from a groin injury.
October 23, 2007
Steven Jackson owners are very close to getting their first-round pick back. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams running back will return from his slightly torn groin this week against the Browns. Jackson has missed the last month because of the injury. He has chosen a heck of a week to come back because Cleveland has allowed a 100-yard rusher every game this season. Assuming he makes it through practice without incident, Steven should return to your lineup right away.
October 20, 2007
Although Steven Jackson worked out some this week, he's not quite ready for game action. The Rams already have ruled him out for Week 7's game, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Hopefully, he will be ready to return from his groin injury next week. Brian Leonard will start again in place of Jackson this week.
October 18, 2007
Injured Rams running back Steven Jackson took part in individual drills during Wednesday’s practice, but he was forced to wear a red "no-contact" jersey, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It was his first practice since tearing a groin muscle in Week 3. Jackson isn’t going to play this week, but it appears he might give it a go in Week 8. Of course, the team may take the cautious approach and rest him that Sunday too because the Rams have a bye in Week 9.
October 16, 2007
Rams running back Steven Jackson is considered doubtful for this week’s game against the Seahawks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He hasn’t played since injuring his groin on September 23. Jackson owners should not be planning to have him available this week and perhaps not for a couple more games. Brian Leonard will be the Rams’ featured back Sunday, and he is a decent option for fantasy owners, especially those in yardage-heavy leagues.
October 12, 2007
Even though Steven Jackson did some light individual work this week for the first time since tearing a groin muscle Sept. 23, his return is far from imminent, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Jackson might not be back until after the Rams take their bye in Week 9.
October 10, 2007
Steven Jackson has already been ruled out for Week 6 as he continues to deal with his partially torn groin muscle. Brian Leonard will start in his place, and likely struggle against the Baltimore rushing defense.
September 27, 2007
Rams running back Steven Jackson believes the rain that fell throughout Sunday’s game in Tampa was the key cause of his groin injury. "That heavy rain kind of tore up the field," he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "They had a game there on Saturday (South Florida vs. North Carolina), so it was really muddy and the field was kind of sloppy. ... I was slipping throughout the game." Jackson has already been ruled out of this week’s game and very likely will miss additional weeks. Stupid rain, costing fantasy owners their first-round pick.
September 25, 2007
The partially torn groin muscle that Steven Jackson has is most likely an injury that will keep him out two-to-three weeks, according to the St. Post-Dispatch. Jackson has already been ruled out of this week’s game because of the injury, which was suffered in the fourth quarter of Week 3’s loss to the Buccaneers. Brian Leonard owners may see him start against two mid-tier defenses, the Cowboys and Cardinals, over the next two weeks.
September 24, 2007
Owners of Steven Jackson suffered another blow Monday. The Rams running back will miss at least one week because of a partially torn left groin muscle suffer while making a cut during Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers, according to the Associated Press. Steven is considered week-to-week right now and there is a chance he misses more than one game because of the injury. Rookie Brian Leonard is going to be a very popular waiver pickup this week because he will get his first career start next weekend against the Cowboys in place of Jackson.
September 23, 2007
Steven Jackson, who tallied 118 rushing yards through the first two weeks of the season, scampered for 115 yards on 30 carries against Tampa Bay on Sunday. He also caught four passes for 18 yards. While the 100-yard performance is encouraging, the 3.8 YPC isn't. He has also failed to find the end zone so far this season, something he did 16 times in 2006.

Steven Jackson believes he can break the league record for total yards from scrimmage. “Twenty-five hundred total—total yards from scrimmage,” Jackson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Former Ram Marshall Faulk set the current record of 2,429 yards back in 1999.
