March 21, 2008
The Miami Dolphins have made more noise with their defensive additions this offseason, but rumors suggest the upgrades they’ve made to their receiver corps may be just as important, according to Pro Football Weekly. After cutting Marty Booker, second-year pro Ted Ginn Jr. was the only receiver left on the roster that the coaching staff felt comfortable trotting out as part of the starting lineup. Since then, the Fins have added a pair of receivers with considerable promise. In ex-Jaguar Ernest Wilford, the Fins have obtained a physical, 6-4, 218-pound possession receiver who can keep the chains moving and be a factor in the red zone. Tab Perry is far more of a wild card, but an intriguing one. Injuries have limited the 26-year-old speedster to just four games over the last two seasons in Cincinnati, but he has the tools to become a dangerous weapon.
February 29, 2008
The Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Ernest Wilford, according to the Miami Herald. Wilford, who caught 45 passes for 518 yards last year, is the second receiver who will join the team in as many days, as the team signed former Broncos receiver David Kircus yesterday. Wilford will step into a prominent role in the Dolphins passing attack as a possession receiver and veteran mentor to youngsters Ted Ginn and Derek Hagan.
February 29, 2008
The Miami Dolphins are interested in wide receiver Ernest Wilford, according to the Miami Sun-Sentinel. Miami is in need of a possession receiver, and Wilford is a young player the organization really likes. Things could get interesting for Wilford, who is also being courted by Buffalo, one of Miami’s rivals in the AFC East.

Solomon Wilcotts of Sirius Radio is reporting that the Bills are "enamored" with FA wide receiver Ernest Wilford, and that he very well could be their top target once the free agent period begins on February 29th. Wilford is a big receiver, he is 6'4" and weighs 223 pounds, and he moves the chains with 35 of his 45 receptions going for first downs. Wilford hasn't produced that big season yet, but he has averaged 41 and 573 yards the past three season's in Jacksonville.
