Matthias Askew has won a settlement that will pay him $500,000, according to the AP. Askew sued the city of Cincinnati after police used unnecessary force on him by using a stun gun when asked to move his parked car. He alleged that the arrest caused his release from the Bengals.

The Bengals waived Matthias Askew on Tuesday, according to ESPN.com. Askew was alleged of resisting arrest last month and police had to use a taser to subdue him.

Matthias Askew pled not guilty on Monday to charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and two parking violations. Police had to use a stun gun to subdue Askew at the time of his arrest. "They are trying to make this look like it was all Matthias' fault ... so they could justify the use of force," attorney Ken Lawson said. "He always complied."
