Confirming earlier reports, Ronnie Brown tore his right ACL during Sunday's loss to the Patriots. According to the Miami Herald, he suffered a complete tear in his ACL, but did not sustain any damage to other tissues or ligaments in the joint. He is expected to undergo surgery within the next 10 days.

Ronnie Brown will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during the Dolphins' Week 7 loss to the Patriots. According to the Miami Herald, the team is still examining the results of an MRI taken early on Monday and the exact extent of the injury has not been determined, but they have acknowledged that Brown will miss the rest of the season. It was a nice run for Brown, who recovered from two bad weeks at the beginning of the season to be one of fantasy football's most productive runners over the last five games. He'll be replaced in the starting lineup by Jesse Chatman, who has run well in a part-time role this year and should be added immediately by those who employ Brown.

The injury that knocked Ronnie Brown out of Sunday's game was to his right knee. "I'm just hoping it's not anything too serious," Brown told the AP. Brown tallied 109 total yards before exiting the contest. More will be known about Brown's status for Week 8 after he has an MRI taken Monday. If Brown can't play against the Giants, Jesse Chatman, who rushed for 73 yards and a TD Sunday, would see the bulk of carries.

Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown injured his leg while attempting to make a tackle following a Cleo Lemon interception in the third quarter. He has gone to the locker room and will not return to the game. Brown was in the middle of a pretty good day before getting hurt with 109 total yards. His status for future games won’t be known until further tests are performed, but the fact his return to the field was so quickly ruled out is not a good sign. Jesse Chatman will be the Fins’ primary back while Brown is out.

Ronnie Brown tallied his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game on Sunday against Cleveland, rushing for 101 yards on 19 carries (5.3 YPC). Not only that, but he also had nine catches for 69 yards. At this point, Brown has to considered a top 5 fantasy back the rest of the way.

Ronnie Brown answered some of his critics on Sunday against the Jets, carrying 23 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and also reeling in six passes for 99 yards and another score. It was Brown's first multiple TD game since Week 1 of last year. You still have to question Brown's status as a legit No. 1 fantasy running back, but this performance is still encouraging. At the very least, owners can use this performance to sell high on the tailback.

Ronnie Brown has received just 11 carries in each of the Dolphins first two games, but that could change on Sunday against the Jets. "You always want to run the ball better," coach Cam Cameron told the Miami Herald. "Give a choice against certain defenses, you'd like to run the ball more, but falling behind really contributed to [Brown's lack of carries]… We need to run the ball better, and I think it's very obvious. It's no fault of anybody. It's the way the [first] two games have played out."

Ronnie Brown was ineffective again on Sunday, managing just 33 yards on 11 carries. Brown did catch two passes for 36 yards, but his 3.0 yards per carry average in the first two weeks has left something to be desired. Backup Jesse Chatman ran well in limited chances (27 yards on three carries), and it's possible we could see this turn into a platoon once Chatman, who has dealt with a knee injury, is completely healthy.

Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown will start Sunday against the Redskins, according to the team’s official website. Brown beat out Jesse Chatman, who will likely see the field in a change of pace role Sunday, for the job.

Cam Cameron implied over the weekend that Ronnie Brown isn't necessarily a lock to be the team's No. 1 running back this year. "I will tell you this – our best running back will play. That hasn't changed, and that's consistent with what I've always said," Cameron told the Miami Herald. "The evaluation of Ronnie Brown is far from over. He's an ascending player. My focus on Ronnie Brown is what he is, and let's see how much he can get incrementally better."

Coach Cam Cameron backtracked Saturday after seemingly implying after Thursday's game that Ronnie Brown would be one of the kickoff returners when the season begins. Cameron said his comment was in reference to that preseason game only, according to the Miami Herald. On the other hand, he didn't say when rookie Ted Ginn, who presumably was drafted to return kicks, would replace Brown in that role. "We haven't made that decision yet," Cameron said. It really would make no sense to risk injuring their talented starting running back by using Brown on returns when they have a player like Ginn available.

Ronnie Brown returned a kickoff during Thursday's exhibition game. Apparently that was no fluke, as coach Cam Cameron said that Brown and Jesse Chatman will "probably be our return unit," according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The Dolphins drafted Ted Ginn to handle returns, but apparently they want him to focus on punt returns for now. Brown could turn into a genuine fantasy stud, so let's hope that Chatman, not Brown, is the one risking injury by returning kickoffs once the season gets underway.

Ronnie Brown gained 57 yards on 13 carries during a preseason win over the Chiefs on Thursday. “We wanted to work on the running game, and the only way you can do that is with those kinds of opportunities,” Brown told the Miami Herald. “It’s just getting comfortable on a weekly basis, forming the offense that we want to be.”
August 8, 2007
Ronnie Brown was surprisingly listed as the backup kick returner when the Dolphins released their first depth chart on Tuesday. When asked by the Miami Herald if he could remember the last time he returned kicks, Brown said, "College, no. High school, no."
July 31, 2007
Ronnie Brown is doing everything he can to meet the expectations now being heaped upon him in the Dolphins new offense. Of the comparisons being made to he and Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson, Brown told the Miami Herald, "For my name and his name to be in the same sentence is motivation for me. I know my workload is going to be turned up and expectations are going to be pretty high. I am ready to carry the load."

Ronnie Brown reported to camp in better physical condition than he has in years past. "I think it's just a maturity level and learning, being on this level and seeing the way some other guys do it," Brown told the Miami Herald. "I just wanted to come in and take care of my part as far as being in shape and doing the necessary things to make us a better offense."
