Cadillac Williams is making great progress and it appears he will be able to play again in 2008, according to USA Today. Williams suffered a torn patellar tendon in his knee against Carolina last October. While he is unable to participate in team drills, he has been running sprints, cutting and catching footballs.

The St. Petersburg Times reports that one can't spend a day at One Buc Place without seeing running back Cadillac Williams pushing himself through his rehab. As training camp nears, the idea of his 2008 return is gaining momentum. "What he's done is nothing short of miraculous," Gruden said. "He has worked his tail off. He's got a chance to be ready to play football again this season. The amount of work he's put forth has really excited our players, and he's really done a great job. We're going to have to harness him a little bit," Allen said. "Put a governor on the Cadillac."

Head coach Jon Gruden is pleased with Cadillac Williams' work ethic and progress. "He's doing great," Gruden informs the St. Petersburg Times. "I look out my (office) window every morning; I see him, right at the crack of dawn. I swear to that. Every morning I open up my window, and I look out there. As soon as the crack of dawn comes around, he's out there with a couple of trainers. He's way ahead of schedule, but we don't know how close he is to being ready to go." Williams tore the patella tendon in his right knee on September 30, 2007.

Cadillac Williams continues to work his way back from his patellar tendon surgery, according to the St. Petersberg Times. "It's a long progress, but I've come a long way," he said. "Earlier on, there were bumps in the road. But now, things are starting to smooth out. I'm starting to do things on the field, a little cutting here and there. I'm just taking it day by day, just continuing to work and seeing how the process goes. We're going to make a decision in July and take it from there."
