Minnesota head coach Mike Tice said Wednesday that rookie Troy Williamson would be active on Sunday against the Lions. Williamson was inactive last week.

Vikings coach Mike Tice confirmed Wednesday that Troy Williamson will play in Sunday's game at Detroit, according to the AP. Williamson had a sprained shoulder that bothered him last week in practice and was one of the reasons why he didn't dress for the first time in his NFL career.

Troy Williamson was inactive on Sunday, and it looks like he may remain inactive for a while, according to the Star-Tribune. "It's hard to suit up five wide receivers unless someone has return ability," coach Mike Tice said. "So what does Troy have to do? I probably would stick with the four guys I have right now unless I take it from the O-line and go back to seven [instead of eight actives] or take it from the linebacker situation and go with the six. Other than that, Troy will be standing next to me."
