For the second straight game, Troy Williamson was essentially the Vikings' No. 5 receiver on Sunday, according to the Star-Tribune. He didn't catch the only ball thrown his way, and coach Brad Childress said he wants to see how Williamson reacts to being benched. "You have to have confidence that the guy is going to do the right thing in practice," Childress said, "catch the ball in practice and continue to compete."

Troy Williamson may be looking at a further-reduced role, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He didn't start last week at Miami and it's possible he could lose snaps to Bethel Johnson this week against Arizona. Williamson leads the league with 10 dropped passes, and he hasn't scored yet this year on 27 catches.

He appeared to be their No. 4 receiver, as Robinson, Travis Taylor and Bethel Johnson all entered the game before Williamson, who caught two passes for 35 yards but dropped a key third-down pass in the third quarter.

Troy Williamson missed some of the team work at Thursday's practice and was downgraded to questionable after the session, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. He's coming off a concussion. For what it's worth, Williamson is still confident he'll play Monday against the Patriots. "This is what we get paid to do, and I feel like me and Travis, the rest of the guys, we're all ready and we'll be ready come Monday. It's no biggie."

Coach Brad Childress seemed optimistic when talking about the concussion that Troy Williamson suffered Sunday, according to the Vikings' official site. Childress said that Williamson's concussion compared favorably to that of Travis Taylor's concussion. He said that Taylor was doing OK and should be better in the next couple days, so it seems likely that Williamson should be able to play in Week 8.

Williamson was injured while landing awkwardly after a hit by the Seahawks' Ken Hamlin. Williamson was able to jog to the sideline after trainers attended to him. His return is questionable.

Troy Williamson suffered what appeared to be a sprained shoulder on his first catch yesterday, according to the Star-Tribune. He went to the locker room and came out with a harness over his shoulder. Williamson proceded to catch five more passes and totalled 102 yards in the game.
