A non-factor all season, Matt Jones had the best game of his three-year career Sunday, catching eight passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Jones is physically gifted enough to have games like this, but don't expect him to carry this momentum into the playoffs and next season.

Matt Jones was inactive on Sunday. "He didn't play today, obviously," coach Jack Del Rio said, according to the Florida Times-Union. "We'll see as we move forward [about whether Jones will remain inactive]. As a coach, I have to make decisions for the football team. It's not about any one guy." Del Rio questioned Jones' attitude publicly earlier in the week, and Jones might seek a trade if he isn't going to be part of the Jags' game plan going forward. "If that's the game for the future [Jones not playing], I want him out of there," Jones' agent, Alan Herman, said. "I'd like to move him to a place where he has the opportunity to play more." Obviously Jones is not a fantasy option at this time, and things will have to change dramatically before he becomes fantasy-worthy again.

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio is a bit put off by the on-field demeanor of wide receiver Matt Jones . “I’m not comfortable with some of the body language he’s exhibiting,” Del Rio told the Florida Times Union, referring to Jones’ propensity to lope down the field when he’s not the main receiver. Del Rio has talked to Jones about the situation privately, but that apparently hasn’t been enough. “I talk to my players all the time when I see things, but I’d like to see it carry over in the games.” Del Rio added that “what I saw and the responses I get are for private consumption.”

Jaguars receivers coach Todd Monken told the Florida Times Union that Matt Jones has found a niche—as a third receiver who can get deep down the seams.

Wide receiver Matt Jones , who sat out the bulk of the Jaguars’ offseason workouts with a quad injury, was back on the practice field Tuesday, according to the Florida Times-Union. Jones worked with the second team.
