No one has promised wide receiver Mark Bradley anything, but he believes he will be the team's go-to receiver in 2008, according to the Chicago Tribune. "In my eyes, I'm that confident that I'm the No. 1 guy," Bradley said at the Walter Payton Center on Saturday while participating in a reading incentive program for kids. "That's what they drafted me for in the second round, to be the No. 1 guy. I've just had some injuries and some minor setbacks. Now I'm recovered and ready to be that guy." Coach Lovie Smith and wide receivers coach Darryl Drake have spoken favorably of Bradley this off-season, saying he was capable of stepping into a major role. But that didn't keep the Bears from adding veteran help, with Marty Booker signing with his former team for two years and Brandon Lloyd agreeing to a one-year deal.

Mark Bradley, whose three-year career has been mired with injuries, could have an increased role in the offense - especially if Bernard Berrian walks in free agency, according to the Sun-Times. ''The way I look at it now, it's just working hard, proving myself all over again,'' Bradley said. ''I once was [a starter], and I've proven that I can be. It's just getting an opportunity to show that.'' GM Jerry Angelo is a strong supporter of Bradley, so at least he has some juice with the front office. Currently Bradley, Devin Hester and Mike Hass, who combined for 26 receptions and three touchdowns last year, are the only wide receivers under contract in Chicago.

Mark Bradley ’s request for additional playing time appears to be falling on deaf ears. “Mark’s our fifth receiver,” head coach Lovie Smith told the Chicago Tribune. “It’s hard to talk about where the fifth receiver fits in. No team in the country can talk about where the fifth receiver fits in. Mark’s one of our guys who will dress and get some occasional plays.” Bradley has yet to catch a pass this season.

Mark Bradley is no longer on Chicago's injury report. He has been battling an ankle problem.

Mark Bradley was held out of practice Friday due to his troublesome sprained ankle, according to the Sun-Times. It's not clear at this point whether the injury will be an issue for the Super Bowl, but he's taking advantage of the two-week layoff to rest the joint.
