Eric Shelton would probably dress for Sunday's game if Nick Goings can't play, the Charlotte Observer reports. Shelton has been speculated as a possible goal-line back for the Panthers somewhere down the line, though John Fox hasn't said much on that.

The Charlotte Observer reports that Eric Shelton almost certainly will be cut by the Panthers this week. "He does not show the types of abilities, and hasn't since he's been here, to be that back who can be an every-down back or even a third-down back," said offensive coordinator Dan Henning. "We go by what we see and you have to give the opportunity to the people you think are going to be playing."
