The Packers signed Vernand Morency to a one-year, $927,000 deal, according to the NFL Network's Adam Schefter. Morency is nothing more than a third-down back and will have value only if injuries hit the rest of the Green Bay backfield.

Vernand Morency was limited in practice on Thursday, but theres a chance he could start on Sunday against the Vikings. He looked good two days in a row, head coach Mike McCarthy told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. I think hes put together back-to-back practices where in the past hes been frustrated the day after a hard practice because of the way he feels. Morency has not played this season because of a strained patella tendon in his right knee.
