Andrew Walter and Aaron Brooks split reps at Thursday's practice and Art Shell plans to go with his "gut feeling" for Sunday's game at Kansas City, according to the Oakland Tribune. Despite starting just seven of nine games this year, Walter has been sacked a league-high 40 times. Shell hinted that Brooks' experience could play into the decision, as the game is set for one of the loudest and most intimidating opposing stadiums in the league.

Andrew Walter appears to be over his hamstring strain as he's not even listed on the Week 8 injury report. Barring a setback on Friday, he's all set to start Sunday's game with Pittsburgh.

Andrew Walter was able to work out Monday despite his hamstring strain, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He says he'll be able to play against the Steelers Sunday.

Raiders coach Art Shell said the hamstring strain that knocked Andrew Walter out of yesterday's game wasn't "too serious," according to the Contra Costa Times. Only time will tell if he will be able to practice and play through it this week, though.

Andrew Walter had his best game to date, completing 17-of-30 passes for 263 yards while throwing a TD and an interception. Walter left the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury and didn't return. His status for next week isn't known.

Andrew Walter will start again for the Raiders this week despite being benched in the fourth quarter last Sunday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "He was pushing, trying to do too much," Shell said. "Some guys take it pretty hard, but when we pulled him out, we told him, 'Look, it had nothing to do with you. It's just something that we have to do at this particular time. You'll be fine.'"

Andrew Walter was pulled from Sunday's game after his third turnover and replaced by Marques Tuiasosopo. Aaron Brooks is due back in another week or two, but Walter has missed out on a chance to lock up the starting job.

Andrew Walter will step in for Aaron Brooks, who is sidelined 2-4 weeks with a sprained rotator cuff. Walter repalced the injured Brooks on Sunday and threw for 162 yards and three picks.

After replacing an injured Aaron Brooks early in Sunday's game against the Ravens, Andrew Walter threw three interceptions and fumbled three times, losing one. Walter completed 10-of-27 passes for 162 yards.

Andrew Walter replaced Aaron Brooks late in the fourth quarter Monday after the game was pretty much out of reach. He completed 2-of-5 passes for 28 yards and was sacked twice. It remains to be seen whether or not the Raiders will consider giving Walter the start in Week 2.

Andrew Walter, who has been dealing with bursitis and tendinitis in his shoulder, underwent an MRI that revealed no structural damage, according to the Contra Costa Times. "I'm good," Walter said before practice. "Should be good this week. Practice today and everything should be good."

Andrew Walter worked as the No. 2 quarterback for the Raiders in the preseason opener on Sunday night. He was 3-for-10 for 46 yards. Walter is competing with Marques Tuiasosopo for the backup job behind Aaron Brooks.

The Contra Costa Times reports that Andrew Walter has already outperformed Marques Tuiasosopo in training camp to the point that Walter has secured the No. 2 role behind starting quarterback Aaron Brooks. If Brooks stumbles or gets hurt, Walter could have some value at some point this season.
