The Tennessee Titans have placed a second-round tender on starting tight end Bo Scaife, according to Scout.com. While the move may have come to a surprise to some, it's believed the team used a higher tender than expected to dissuade other teams from signing him to an offer sheet. The former sixth-round pick in the 2005 draft is coming off a career-high in receptions (46) during the 2007 season. Scaife has the Texas connection with quarterback Vince Young in his favor, but the organization is still expected to make a run at tight end Alge Crumpler.
January 2, 2008
The Tennessee Titans lost one of Vince Young’s key targets on Wednesday, as they placed tight end Bo Scaife on injured reserve just days before their wildcard playoff game. Scaife suffered a lacerated liver after being hit by Colts safety Matt Giordano in the second quarter of Sunday night’s game. Scaife finished the game and returned to Nashville with the team, but was hospitalized for a while on Monday.
