Derek Anderson missed the second of two mandatory practices Friday while nursing a leg ailment, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

May 27, 2009
Derek Anderson is still in the running for the starting gig at quarterback, according to Scout.com. Head coach Eric Mangini said, "Quinn was just the starting rep the starting day. (Quinn and Anderson) both had exactly the same amount of reps. They have had the exact amount of reps in every practice."

April 18, 2009
Derek Anderson did not undergo offseason knee surgery following a left MCL injury that ended his 2008 campaign, according to ESPN. There were contrary reports stating that he did have surgery on his knee.

Derek Anderson is completely recovered from the injury to his MCL that was suffered at the end of last season, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Browns GM George Kokinis commented, "Derek's 100 percent. He's been working out. I think Derek's going to come in determined and will compete. He's 100 percent."
