Josh Cribbs has been practicing this week and should be able to go Sunday against the Steelers. He's dealing with a sore thumb.

The Browns signed Josh Cribbs to a six-year extension that will keep him in Cleveland through the 2012 season, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed. Cribbs has been one of the better kickoff return men in the league this season, averaging 27.7 per attempt. He also has nine catches for 81 yards.

Josh Cribbs is likely to step in as the Browns' third receiver now that Joe Jurevicius is out 4-6 weeks with a rib injury, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "This is an opportunity I've been waiting for," Cribbs said. "Hopefully the coaches trust me to step in there and not miss a beat." Cribbs didn't catch a pass in the season opener.

The Browns downgraded the status of Josh Cribbs yesterday from probable to questionable, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The kick returner is recovering from two neck stingers.
