An MRI revealed that Matt Leinart has no structural damage in his sprained throwing shoulder, according to the AP. Leinart will not need surgery, though he will not play this weekend. Kurt Warner will get the start instead.

Matt Leinart was very impressive against the Bears Monday, completing 24-of-42 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Leinart wasn't intercepted and although he did fumble once, it came on a blind-side rush and wasn't his fault. The schedule gets easier for the Cardinals the next two weeks, as they play at Oakland and at Green Bay.

Leinart completed 22-of-35 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also led the Cardinals down the field with no timeouts to set up a game-tying field goal in the final seconds, though Neil Rackers was unable to connect.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen "reported" Monday night that Matt Leinart will start in Week 4 ahead of the struggling Kurt Warner. This report sounded a lot more like a prediction than any kind of scoop. Earlier Monday, Cardinals head coach Dennis Green passed on an opportunity to affirm Warner as the starter and simply said that all personnel would be evaluated on Tuesday.
