He feels like a more complete back, capable of playing on every down. He has worked hard to gain a better understanding of blocking schemes, as well as working on being a more patient runner. Buccaneers' coach Jon Gruden has been heard praising Vikings' second year pro Adrian Peterson, according to the Detroit Free Press. Gruden commented, "I've never seen a guy play like Adrian Peterson as long as I've been studying film. Adrian Peterson is a superstar." Gruden is correct as Peterson racked up 1609 total yards as a rookie, in only 14 games played. He should be one of the first fantasy players drafted in 2008.

Adrian Peterson told Mike McAllister of ESPN leading up to the Pro Bowl that he believes he'll produce a 2,000-yard season. In fact, he thinks he'll do it in 2008. "Oh, yeah, I set my bar high," he said this week "That's definitely where I'd like to start." A sprained knee suffered by Peterson derailed the rookie after his 296-yard performance against the Chargers in Week 10. He missed the next two games, and even though he came back to rush for 116 yards in a rout of Detroit, he never really gained that burst, managing just 144 yards in the final four games of the season. "I wasn't fully healthy," he acknowledged. "But I don't want to make excuses." Peterson will face many obstacles next year. The lack of a quality passing game and the dreaded sophomore jinx. He will be overvalued by fantasy owners leaving the draft board as one of the first four-picks in most formats.

The Minnesota running back scored twice as the NFC rallied from a 24-7 deficit, earning himself MVP honors. Faulk is the only other rookie to be voted MVP of the Pro Bowl.
