Marshawn Lynch didn't take long to shake off the rust after his three-week layoff, rushing for 107 yards on 23 carries in Sunday's win over Miami. Lynch was actually the second leading rusher on his team, though, as Fred Jackson had 115 yards on 15 totes.

December 6, 2007
Marshawn Lynch (ankle) had another limited day of practice Thursday, though Dick Jauron was encouraged by what Lynch was able to do. Friday is a key day for Lynch as he tries to get ready for Miami this week, but it looks likely that he'll give it a go on game day.

Marshawn Lynch practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, but his status remains up in the air for Sunday. "I haven't done anything in a while, so just running on it got a little sore," Lynch told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle of his injured ankle. "They didn't bring me in to rest, so I have to get back to work sometime, but with Freddie [Jackson] doing what he did, I feel if it did take another week, I wouldn't have a problem with that."
December 3, 2007
The Bills continue to report that Marshawn Lynch is ahead of schedule as he rehabilitates his injured ankle, but his status for Week 14 remains up in the air. "Marshawn has made a lot of progress and faster than we anticipated," head coach Dick Jauron told the Bills' official website. "We're hopeful [he can play on Sunday], but I don't want to overstep it right now." Lynch returned to practice last Friday, but was very limited and he won't really test the ankle again until Wednesday, at which point we'll know more about his status for Week 14.
December 2, 2007
Marshawn Lynch (ankle) and Anthony Thomas (calf) will both miss Sunday's game against the Redskins. Lynch returned to practice on a limited basis late in the week, but it was assumed that both players would sit out on Sunday. Fred Jackson is expected to get the majority of the carries for the Bills on Sunday.
December 1, 2007
The Bills will play Sunday without the services of Marshawn Lynch. He'll miss his third consecutive contest due to a high-ankle sprain, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. The good news is that he practiced some on Friday, which means he may be available in Week 14. With Anthony Thomas also sidelined, Fred Jackson should start and Dwayne Wright will chip in on Sunday.
November 29, 2007
Marshawn Lynch is ahead of schedule as he continues to rehab a high ankle sprain, but head coach Dick Jauron continues to express doubt about his ability to play in Week 13. “I heard this injury takes a lot of time to heal,” Lynch told the Bills' official website. “With the way I’ve been running on it they say it’s coming back a little faster than expected. But I’m just patiently waiting until I can get back out there.”
November 27, 2007
Head coach Dick Jauron expressed concern that running back Marshawn Lynch could miss his third straight game in Week 13. "Marshawn, we're not optimistic again," Jauron told the Bills official website. "He's now doing some running and some cutting, but nothing like full speed playing."
November 23, 2007
Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has been classified as “out” for Sunday’s tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lynch sprained his left ankle severely two weeks ago, and has not practiced all week. Anthony Thomas and Dwayne Wright will split Lynch’s carries this weekend.
November 23, 2007
Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was not able to practice Friday and is unlikely to play Sunday because of his high ankle sprain, according to the team’s website. Lynch owners should not be using him this week and there is a good chance he won’t be back next Sunday either.
November 22, 2007
Marshawn Lynch (ankle) didn't practice Thursday for the second consecutive day and seems unlikely to play Week 12 at Jacksonville. Anthony Thomas is next in line for the Bills, if needed.
November 20, 2007
Head coach Dick Jauron would not count Marshawn Lynch out for Week 12's matchup with the Jaguars, but he isn't optimistic that the rookie's ankle injury will be sufficiently healed in time for him to start. "Based on what I know about Marshawn, I wouldn't count him out," Jauron told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. "He came so far the first week, and he was so determined that he was going to play the whole week until Saturday, when I told him he was not going to play… but it is a substantial injury, so I'm not optimistic." Anthony Thomas would start in Lynch's place if the rookie can't play on Sunday.

November 14, 2007
Marshawn Lynch missed practice Wednesday due to his ankle injury, and coach Dick Jauron is not optimistic about the rookie playing on Sunday night against New England, according to the team's official site. It's very sore right now," said Jauron. "I would say we're not overly optimistic. We'll just kind of go through the week and see what happens, but we're not optimistic about it." In fact, the Buffalo News has even reported that Lynch coud miss multiple weeks. If Lynch is in fact unable to go this weekend, Anthony Thomas figures to carry the bulk of the load, while rookie Dwayne Wright could figure into the mix, as well.
November 12, 2007
Marshawn Lynch believes he'll be able to play in Week 11 despite tweaking his ankle late in Sunday's win over the Dolphins, but he will undergo an MRI on the injured leg on Tuesday before the team makes a decision. "There is concern and we'll have an MRI," head coach Dick Jauron told the team's official website. "We'll just have to see what happens there. We don't believe anything is broken. He's very optimistic and we'll certainly know more by tomorrow."
November 12, 2007
Marshawn Lynch left Sunday's game late in the contest after twisting his ankle. There was no mention of the severity of the injury in the Buffalo News, so hopefully it's just something minor. Lynch got himself into "Beast Mode" Sunday to finish with 85 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion. What's "Beast Mode" for Lynch? "It's simply the attitude you can't get tackled by one defender," Lynch said. But for one record-setting Adrian Peterson, Lynch would be getting a lot more press about his solid first-year performance.
November 4, 2007
Adrian Peterson wasn't the only rookie who had a big Sunday, as Marshawn Lynch had his first 100-yard rushing performance of his career, scampering for 153 yards and a score on 29 carries (5.3 YPC). Lynch has been one of the few bright spots in Buffalo this year, and he's establishing himself as a borderline No. 1 fantasy back.
October 5, 2007
The Bills have handed the ball off to Marshawn Lynch 80 times in four games, but they are looking for ways to get him more involved in the passing offense."There's no question we’ve been working on it, it just hasn’t happened," offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild said of the fact that Lynch has just five catches so far. "We probably haven't given him enough opportunities, and sometimes coverage dictates it. But he certainly has abilities and we’re trying to grow in that direction." Look for Lynch to get more involved in the passing game as he learns the nuances of pass protection.

Bills rookie running back Marshawn Lynch missed practice Wednesday due to a stomach illness, according to the team’s official website. "He had a minor flu or was sick to his stomach," head coach Dick Jauron said. "We don't think it'll be long term."

Marshawn Lynch got off to a solid start in his NFL debut on Sunday. He rushed 19 times for 90 yards and a touchdown. He also added two catches for nine additional yards. Marshawn Lynch will get the start on Friday and will play throughout the first quarter. “We’d like to see more of Marshawn, so to ensure that, we’re thinking of putting him out there with the first group,” coach Dick Jauron told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “We feel good about him. He has to get a lot more touches as we move along. Lynch got just two carries for three yards in the Bills' preseason opener.

Head coach Dick Jauron indicated Tuesday that he plans to use a committee approach in his backfield in 2007. "Regardless of who the No. 1 [back] is, we do still intend to run the ball by committee," Jauron told the Buffalo News. "We think it's better for our team over the long haul… A guy that gets overburdened carrying the ball constantly at that position will take so many more shots. We'd like to run it by committee." Fantasy owners intent on grabbing Marshawn Lynch on draft day shouldn't panic just yet; we still expect the rookie to get the majority of the carries, though it appears Anthony Thomas could be in line for some regular action as well.
July 27, 2007
Marshawn Lynch agreed to terms on a six-year contract with the Bills late Thursday night. According to the Buffalo News, he will earn $10.275 million in guaranteed money and up to $18.9 million over the life of the contract if he reaches all of the incentives. The the sixth year is voidable if Lynch reaches certain easily-attainable playing time requirements.
July 24, 2007
The Bills have been talking about opening up their offense this year, and rookie running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to be a big part of that endeavor. "You hate to anoint anyone without pads on, but he sure looks to have a lot of different abilities," offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild told the Buffalo News. "It's still kind of in the stages of finding out just what he can do. But he looks to be not only a tremendous runner but a guy who can come out of the backfield and do some things in space. I'm really excited, to be honest, and we'll see where it goes."
June 12, 2007
Marshawn Lynch continued to rotate in with the first team during the Bills first day at minicamp on Monday. “We’re doing a lot of the same things that I did at Cal with coach [Jeff] Tedford,” Lynch told the team’s official website. “Lining me up at receiver, making catches out of the backfield and getting carries. I feel good about all that I’m being asked to do.”
