Jared Lorenzen has secured the No. 2 quarterback job with the Giants over Tim Hasselbeck, according to the New York Daily News. "His progress has been steady - I think that's the way the training camp evolved for Jared," coach Tom Coughlin said. He obviously won't see the light of day so long as Eli Manning remains healthy.

Jared Lorenzen is making a push to beat out Rob Johnson and Tim Hasselbeck for the backup quarterback job with the Giants, according to the New York Daily News. Lorenzen is expected to play most of the second half of Friday's preseason game.
