Following an earlier report, TE Ben Utecht has signed an offer sheet with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to SLAM Sports. The Bengals' offer would give Utecht a three-year agreement. As a restricted free agent, Indianapolis now has the option to match that offer to retain Utecht or to pass and let him move to Cincinnati. If the Bengals sign him on, they will not be required to provide Indianapolis with compensation as Utecht entered the league as a college free agent. The numbers from last season (31 catches for 364 yards and one touchdown) may indicate Utecht is not a major contributor, but as is often the case, the tight end offers much more that won't translate in numbers and he would be a substantial upgrade at the position for Cincinnati.
