Jay Cutler will wear an insulin pump during practices and pre-game warm-ups to regulate his blood-sugar level, once he gets back to his 238-pound playing weight and his condition fully stabilizes, according to the Rocky Mountain News. Then he'll take the device off for the three hours he plays in games, keeping a close eye on his glucose levels - either between quarters or at halftime - and drinking Gatorade to give his body a boost rather than letting the machine do the work for him. "We wish we would have caught it towards the end of the season, and that's probably my fault, because we were trying to schedule a blood test but I had a lot of things going on. And once the season ended, everybody kind of scatters around here," Cutler said. "But I think we caught it relatively soon. And talking to the doctors, if I get this under control, there shouldn't be any long-term damage."

The second half of the season [it] was kind of something I was dealing with at the time. I was losing weight, didn’t have a lot of strength. You could tell. Just the way I played, some of the throws that I made didn’t have a lot behind them.”

Jay Cutler ripped into wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who suffered a gash on his right forearm while horsing around with a brother last month, according to USA Today. "Yeah, he's not my favorite person right now," Cutler said Tuesday in his first offseason interview. "I mean, I support him, but it's always something with him right now. You can't have that." Cutler said with Jeremy Bates taking over the passing game, the offseason work is important and now Marshall won't be available until the start of training camp in late July at the earliest. Cutler said he wanted to work on new formations and plays and now those are things that might not even come together in camp. Now is the time for our organization to move forward and look at new directions. We are prepared to do so, starting with our ongoing draft planning, and along with continuing preparations for our mini camps and training camp.” Shanahan wields much power in personnel decisions in Denver, so in reality it will be business as usual without Sundquist.
