The Denver Post is reporting that Broncos' tight end Tony Scheffler was walking around in flip-flops Thursday during an promotional appearance and said his foot was nearly healed. "It feels pretty good," Scheffler said. "It's back to normal, and I am doing everything with the rest of the team, looking forward to getting this behind me."

Tony Scheffler practiced on a limited basis on Tuesday. He also did conditioning work after the session, the Rocky Mountain News reports. The tight end felt a pop in his left foot last month, almost one year to the day after breaking his fifth metatarsal. He did not break any bones this time.

Tony Scheffler admitted to the Denver Post that his injured foot may not be pain-free for another two years. The tight end broke his left foot while running a pass pattern last May, and last month he felt a pop in the same left foot, in the same fifth metatarsal. "It had been feeling great," Scheffler said. "I thought I was completely past it. That's the frustrating part about it. I felt like I had finally found my place in this organization. Felt like I could contribute a lot. It finally felt right for the first time after last year. And then to fall back, it's hard. But that's what makes athletes better."

Tony Scheffler was back at mini-camp on Thursday, this according to the Denver Post. It was his first appearance since reinjuring a bone in his left foot on May 19. "I don't know if it was scar tissue or what, but I heard a pop," Scheffler said. "We've just been a little cautious with it, and it feels good now."
