Tony Scheffler caught three passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns Sunday. The two TDs were the first of the rookie's career.

Tony Scheffler will likely be in uniform this week after sitting the last three games, the Rocky Mountain News reports. Perhaps the switch to Jay Cutler will help Scheffler - the two rookies are roommates.

Tony Scheffler has been inactive the last two games, but coach Mike Shanahan still has confidence in the tight end, according to the Denver Post. Shanahan said he wants to see "just more consistency in practice. We throw a lot of different things at these young guys with game plans. He's got a lot of potential, I still believe in him; he's going to be a great player here. He's just going to have to keep on working."

Tony Scheffler is dealing with a sore hip, though he's listed as probable for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. Scheffler is coming off the first relevant game of his pro career; he had four catches for 51 yards last week against the Colts, in addition to a three-yard run.
