Coach Brad Childress felt that Tarvaris Jackson made progress this season, but added that his status as a starting quarterback for 2009 is yet to be decided, according to the Star Tribune. Childress said, "Its really kind of a whole offseason study. Im not going to pass judgement right at this particular point. I think you owe it to everybody here in the organization, just like we always have, to turn over all the rocks and see what you have there. I would also say theres point with Tarvaris of continuing to evolve as a quarterback. While youd like that process to happen immediately, it doesnt always happen immediately. But theres not anything were going to leave unturned in terms of free agency, draft."

Tarvaris Jackson had a terrible game against a lethal Eagles defense in Minnesota's first round loss on Sunday. He completed just 15-of-35 passes for 164 yards, an interception, and a fumble.

Tarvaris Jackson fumbled three times, losing two, as the Vikings lost at home to the Falcons by a touchdown in Week 16. When he wasn't turning it over, he put up some decent numbers. He finished 22-for-36 with 233 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also picked up 76 yards on eight carries.
