Head coach Herm Edwards said the Kansas City Chiefs might spend the days before Saturday's NFL draft examining the possibility of trading for even more draft picks, according to the Kansas City Star. Kansas City entered this week with 10 draft picks. But Tuesday night's trade of All-Pro defensive end Jared Allen gave the Chiefs three more - for a total of six of the draft's first 82 choices. "It’s not over," Edwards said. "Right now, we have 13. We might end up with more than that. Who knows?"

Don't believe for a second that the Kansas City Chiefs will use their draft picks to move up in order to select Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan, according to ESPN. The Chiefs still plan to go with Brodie Croyle as their starter, as they aren't ready to hand over the starting job or the franchise to a rookie quarterback in 2008.

The Kansas City Chiefs' proposal calling for all players to tuck or cut long hair so it doesn't hang below the nameplate on their uniform was tabled until the next NFL owners meeting in May, according to ESPN. If coach Herm Edwards didn't accuse the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and St. Louis Rams of cheating when they signed free agents of interest to the Kansas City Chiefs, he certainly implied it, according to FanNation. During a news conference called to announce plans for his football camp in Kansas City, Edwards indicated the Chiefs were as aggressive as NFL rules allowed them to be in pursuing center Jeff Faine and kicker Josh Brown. NFL rules prohibit teams from contacting prospective free agents or their agents until the new league year begins. This year, that was at 11 p.m. Feb. 28. "There were probably some deals done before (the start of the league year)," Edwards said when asked why the Chiefs didn't get in the game with either player. "We didn't cheat. We abided by the rules. That's how you're supposed to do it, and that's what we did." Looks like another situation where Commissioner Roger Goodell could get involved with additional investigation.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been very quiet on the free agent front, some of which is because potential free agents are shunning the organization, according to Pro Football Weekly. Head coach Herman Edwards reportedly wants to obtain eight new starters during the offseason, but two players they were interested in declined to visit with the organization. Both center Jeff Faine and kicker Josh Brown were coveted by Kansas City, but neither opted to even schedule a visit leaving the impression that veterans find Kansas City an unattractive place to play. Looks like its going to be a long, and possibly ugly rebuilding process in Kansas City.
