The Patriots have decided to release Willie Andrews, according to the AP. The move comes one day after he was arrested for allegedly pointing a handgun at his girlfriends head.

Willie Andrews was arrested this morning for allegedly holding a high-powered handgun to his girlfriends head during an argument, this according to the Boston Herald. This is his second run-in with police this off-season. The report notes that Mansfield police was told by Andrew's girl friend that the two were arguing, allegedly over him cheating on her, when he pulled out a Glock .45-caliber handgun and held it to her temple.

The Associated Press reports New England Patriots cornerback Willie Andrews entered a plea to a marijuana possession charge, but he will not face any prison time.

Willie Andrews was arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. Andrews was to be arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court, according to the AP. Andrews has played mostly on special teams the last two seasons for the Pats.
