Ravens' beat writer Jamison Hensley is reporting that backup quarterback Troy Smith missed practice on Thursday will an illness. Smith was the only Ravens' player who did not participate today.

Head coach John Harbaugh has been pleased with Troy Smith's progress in the offseason, according to the Baltimore Sun. Harbaugh said, "Troy is throwing the ball very well. He has come a long way the last year as a passer. He is an NFL-caliber passer."

Terrell Suggs is endorsing Troy Smith to be the Ravens' starting quarterback over Joe Flacco, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Suggs said, "I think Joe should get some playing time, but I think Troy should be the starter. Flacco started out hot, but I mean we played two teams (Cincinnati and Cleveland) at the bottom of the league in defense, so everybody was going all crazy about him."
