August 10, 2007
Kenny Irons suffered a torn ACL in Thursday's preseason opener and will miss the entire 2007 season. The team said in a news release Friday they expect Irons to make a full recovery and be ready for next spring's workouts. Irons, the team's second-round draft pick in April, dazzled during an intrasquad scrimmage and was expected to handle a few touches per game to lighten the load on Rudi Johnson. With both Irons and Chris Perry sidelined, Kenny Watson stands as Rudi's primary backup.
