Chan Gailey isn't ready to turn around and go home, according to the KC Star, not even after he's had the chance to watch on video an entire season of Chiefs offense. This is a man who likes a challenge. The loss of five regulars won't stop the Chiefs new offensive coordinator from looking at the KC offense as half full. After all he has six returning starters -- running back Larry Johnson, tight end Tony Gonzalez, wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, offensive linemen Brian Waters and Damion McIntosh and even quarterback Brodie Croyle -- Gailey sees the positive. "I see some guys that have some ability to make plays," Gailey said. "What you can't do is just be shooting that scattergun out there and hoping something hits. There's got to be an approach on how you use each of those guys. None of those guys will be used exactly how everybody in the stands would expect. We've got to have a plan." The process starts in earnest today with the beginning of the Chiefs' offseason program. The most intriguing of the offensive returnees will be second-year receiver Dwayne Bowe and his role in the Gailey offense. Regardless of the percentage of running plays to passing, without Eddie Kennison (released) Bowe figures to be in line for a 1000 yard season as the teams' No. 1 wide out.
