Anthony Gonzalez was unable to complete Sunday's game. He left in the second quarter with an injured left foot and did not return, according to the Indianapolis Star. "It was just a matter of being cautious, I think," Gonzalez said. "The X-rays were fine, the game was pretty well in hand, so we just shut it down." That doesn't help all of you who where playing in finals this weekend. He might be back in the mix for those who play a full 17-game slate, so stay tuned.

Anthony Gonzalez is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Gonzalez, who has been out with a dislocated left thumb, should see plenty of action with Marvin Harrison sitting out again.

Anthony Gonzalez will miss three to four weeks with a dislocated thumb that also might have a torn ligament, according to Sports Ticker. With Anthony Gonzalez sidelined and the status of Marvin Harrison still unclear, Aaron Moorehead could get the start against the Chargers on Sunday evening.

Anthony Gonzalez dislocated his thumb one play into Sunday's game. He returned to the contest but was ineffective and was unable to complete the game, according to the Indianapolis Star. "I tried to go back in and I just couldn't hold anything," Gonzalez said. "On the sideline I was trying to hold the ball and see if I could at least hold it, but I had no grip whatsoever." Whether he will be able to suit up for the Colts' next game will depend on how quickly the digit heals this week and whether he can deal with the pain.

With Marvin Harrison sidelined Sunday, rookie Anthony Gonzalez played a significant role on offense for the Colts. Gonzalez had 71 yards receiving, joining Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark as the three players to whom Peyton Manning completed seven passes. Look for all three to carry a big load in their next game, should Harrison require more time to recover.

Wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez , the 32nd overall pick in the NFL draft, signed a five-year, $7.5 million contract with the Colts. “Anthony is very excited to put this behind him and have the ability to concentrate on what he loves,” Gonzalez’s agent told the Indianapolis Star. “And that’s football.” The contract includes approximately $5.4 million in guaranteed bonuses, as well as escalator clauses that could drive its actual value north of $10 million should Gonzalez reach the incentives. Gonzalez is slated to work as the Colts’ slot receiver from the outset, as well as being groomed for a starting gig when Marvin Harrison finally hangs up his cleats.

Wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez , the Colts’ first-round draft pick, will be forced to miss the team’s minicamp because the NFL is demanding he participate in the Rookie Premier event in Los Angeles. According to the Indianapolis Star, Gonzalez initially declined the invitation and planned to participate in the team’s minicamp, but the NFL intervened and notified all 32 teams that the “invitation” must be honored, and that any player invited who did not participate in the event could not attend his team’s minicamp. Gonzalez will also be forced to miss some of the Colts’ summer school sessions because of his academic commitments at Ohio State.
